My name is Josh Milan. I proudly established Honeycomb Music, LLC in 2010 along with my partner, Adam Cruz. I started Honeycomb after more than two decades in the Dance Music industry, notably as a founding member of the iconic House music group Blaze.
As an independent record label, Honeycomb’s vision and mission has always been to release timeless, quality music that is organically produced with live instrumentation, heartfelt lyrics, soul-stirring melodies, and pulsating rhythms, punctuated with authentic vocal performances. As Adam shares, “Josh and I launched Honeycomb Music with the intention of releasing amazing music that the people can stick to, relate to and feel joy from...music that heals.”
Adam and I have been passionately committed to the music through all the label’s 58 releases, to date— singles, EPs, albums, and compilations. We have offered both digital and vinyl releases for our fans. Through our partnership, which honors both creative artistic expression and music business integrity— we have developed what’s affectionately known as the Honeycomb sound. At the very core and essence of Honeycomb Music are its songs— penned and produced by yours truly— which have been interpreted sonically by more than 40 recording artists over the past 13 years. Every Honeycomb release reflects what it means to truly live in today’s world. Our songs resonate themes of positivity, spirituality, self-affirmation, being in love, navigating heartbreak and healing, recognizing injustice, celebrating freedom, and fostering unity and family. We release songs that our fans can enjoy at home, in the car, or in the club. Honeycomb Music is an eclectic mosaic of Soulful House, Jazz, R&B, Soul, Funk, World, Fusion, Electronic, and even Soft Rock. We believe that Honeycomb Music cannot be defined by a specific genre or category; most importantly, our music can be felt with the heart, mind, body, and spirit.

Since Honeycomb’s first release in 2011, we have consistently pumped out hits that have quickly earned the #1 spot on Bandcamp’s All R&B/Soul Chart as well as its Gospel Chart. The key to Honeycomb’s success is deeply connected to our roster of powerhouse vocalists, musicians, and spoken-word artists— artists such as Dawn Tallman, Diviniti, Lamone, Ritmo Y Tumbao, Dannis Winston, Tracy Brathwaite, Sheree Hicks, Sandra St. Victor, ChinahBlac, Kia Stewart, Temika Moore, Joseff McKenneth, Raw Honey Poets, and others on the horizon, such as Lezlie Harrison and Vivian Sessoms. Honeycomb Music also collaborates with GRAMMY Award-winning producer DJ Kemit. Since 2012, Honeycomb Music’s official web store reports more than 16,000 downloads of our releases and over 400,000 plays.

In 2014, I launched my weekly Internet radio show, The Honeycomb Music Non-Radio Lunch Break. My radio show is a natural extension of the label and provides me with a live platform to share my love affair with soulful music. The Honeycomb Music Non-Radio Lunch Break airs on Mondays from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET on the MixLR radio-streaming site, and provides music lovers from around the world with a live playlist of musical offerings— including Jazz, Funk, House, Afrobeat, Reggae, Rare Groove, Fusion, and Pop. This interactive experience allows me to connect with international fans and supporters in a real-time chatroom during the show’s airing. On the first Monday night of each month, I host a special listening show at 8:30 p.m. ET— First Mondays From the Studio. Listeners are treated to new Honeycomb Music releases, upcoming projects I’m collaborating on, or music that has been inspiring my creative process in the studio. I often play unreleased versions and demos on these first Mondays. On the third and fourth Mondays of each month, resident selectors Mario Romay out of Chicago and Amanda Frontany out of Brooklyn, respectively, select the music. Frequently, I invite other guest selectors to share music on the show as The Honeycomb Music Non-Radio Lunch Break is a family gathering where people from all over the globe come together online to share their passion for music. My radio show has garnered over 97,600 total listens since its inception in 2014 and continues to grow each month with over 420 archived shows and over 5400 followers on the MixLR platform. The Honeycomb Music Non-Radio Lunch Break was previously syndicated internationally on the U.K.’s HouseFM.net and most recently on the U.K.’s Mi-Soul Radio. Adam and I also host special Honeycomb Music events and parties to celebrate new releases, new artists, label anniversaries, and even my own June 9th birthday. We have gathered together at various venues in New York City, on the Circle Line Cruise around Manhattan, and have even taken the party as far as the Bahamas and Greece. Honeycomb Music events always feature live performances from Honeycomb artists, world-renowned guest DJ’s, industry networking, Honeycomb merchandise, and most importantly, an opportunity for family, friends, and fans from all over the world to celebrate together.
Honeycomb Music is more than a label that releases chart-topping soulful music-- this is a labor of love, something that Adam and I believe in. Honeycomb is a collective of creatives who bring their own unique talents, authenticity, heart, and soul to every artistic endeavor. And none of these endeavors are possible without encouragement from our very own Honeycomb Nation-- supporters from all over the world who have been championing the label since day one.
